The Last Dance

The Last Dance… this is the dance that says the evening is almost done. A few of the guests are beginning to gather their coats and gloves, mom and the bride are having a conversation about family brunch plans for tomorrow, and the valet is out in the cold retrieving cars. The parlor is still full of laughing guests playing board games and eating sweets but the tone is mellowing some. It has been a full weekend for many of them. Our intrepid dancers just couldn’t resist the call of the music… with no room in the parlor, they moved seamlessly into the lobby of the hotel and had a fine time. You know it’s been a great wedding when the guests are still on their feet and smiling at the end. ;0)

The Morrison House in Alexandria, Virginia was very gracious with all the nuances that a wedding brings to the table… huge kudos to their staff!

Twister in Alexandria

Twister in Alexandria… sounds like a bad weather headline on the East Coast doesn’t it? Well, it wasn’t. Chris and Jen decided to offer an evening of board games instead of the usual dancing… it suited them to a T. After dinner, the guests came back to the parlor where the ceremony had taken place and found that the room had been turned into small groupings of table and chairs amid the couches. They could sit and chat or they could pick from a huge variety of games to play. Between the parlor and the bar was the only really open floor space for the Twister board and it was barely big enough for 4 to play… Chris and young Owen got aced out by Jen and the Kilt Guy… not sure who eventually carried the day. Photographically, the angle was getting a little too dangerous. ;0)
