Cupcakes, a paradise of cupcakes was presented at this August wedding. Instead of being safely out of reach on a table, this tower of sugar was set on the stage at the Jupiter Hotel and it didn’t take long for the short ones to figure out how easy the pickings were going to be.
The young man in the middle wasn’t eating them so much as inhaling them… his stack of wrappers was getting pretty high. The younger man on the right seemed to be more discerning, eyeing his next choice while thoughtfully finishing the previous cupcake. I didn’t get to stay to watch the delighted little girl, my duties called me elsewhere, but she had the enthusiasm needed to join the boys in the carnage. I wonder if any of the grownups got a chance? ;0)
If you have a heaven of cupcakes in your plans, Portland has some great bakeries… check these out:
And then come talk to me about your wedding, ok?
See you soon!
Brides Rule the Day at the Jupiter Hotel! It should have been the headline on the Sunday morning paper this weekend!
My two cool brides, Melissa & Mia, brought such a confident spark to their wedding day that the crowd was more involved than many I have seen. It was really great to see the level of happy going on. I can’t wait to work through all of their images… it’s going to make me smile all over again.
In all of this, I finally had a chance to work with the delightful Melissa Coe, an officiant held in high regard here in Portland. I was not disappointed and as we chatted a little during the day, I was pleased to find a kindred spirit in her. Not all wedding vendors are created equal so when I find the ones that fit, I am elated. ;0)
Getting married? I’d love to talk to you!
With the ceremony straight ahead, there were a few finishing touches, a few last minute things to savor. Rob made sure he had his vows at hand, Erin had a last minute eye makeup check… he still had to put on his coat and she had a sassy birdcage veil waiting for her downstairs… the finishing touches on just about any wedding day.
Erin and Rob had already taken care of the family shots and a really great portrait session… all done ahead so that they could have the rest of the day with all of their special people. These two wonderful people got properly launched into their married life and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!
A shout out to the hip teams at Vibrant Table and the Jupiter Hotel for a seamless day!
I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to take a little extra time to play with your photographer. If you have followed my work for a while you may recognize this wonderful couple. I figure we spent an hour for just the two of them on their wedding day… but we did it in 3 twenty minute chunks so they weren’t out of the guest loop for very long at any given time.
Maybe you think that’s too much time but can you imagine not having the really special portraits? I didn’t think so.
Work with me. ;0)
Erin and Rob were almost on their toes in anticipation… the first sight of each other was on one of the balconies at the Jupiter Hotel… up out of the friendly crowd. They had a chance to really connect before the aisle walk and before all of those other people needed any part of them.
True love is a rare find… it’s nice to see it go by.
